Discrepancy in running distance between MapMyRu...

I brought both iPhone 7 and Apple Watch 3 for running today, and used both MapMyRun and the apple watch Activity app to track running stats. At the end of the run, MapMyRun reported that I ran 11.13km, but the Activity app only reported 10.66km. Why is there a discrepancy between the two apps given that both are using the same devices to track distance?
