Build

The Built-in keypad and Trackpad dont work.

But when i tried to run the diagnostics the trackpad was working. And i got the no issues message. But when restarted the Macbook Pro the built-in keypad and the trackpad didnt work and i got a message pop up saying bluetooth keyboard and mouse not found. This has been happening for a lot of time.

I have tried doing the following troubleshooting steps.

  1. Ran a Complete Diagnostics: result:- no issues (Trackpad is working while i choose the language option in the diagnostics).
  2. Created a new User: Result:- Built-in Keypad and Trackpad not working in new user.
  3. SMC Reset using both In-built keypad and external Keypad: Result:- not working
  4. NVRam Reset using both In-built keypad and external Keypad: Result:- not working

I have also noticed that the keypad and the trackpad automatically works for sometime and then again stops working after some time.

System Configuration.

Mac Version: macOS High Sierra 10.13

Macbook Pro Retina 13 inch early 2015

Hi,

It would be rare on a machine of that age, but sometimes a battery can "bulge," expanding up into the trackpad/keyboard area and the cables there. Obviously this can cause issues, issues such as your Mac is experiencing. To see if this is the case, the bottom case needs to be removed so the battery can be visually inspected. If the battery is expanding, that is almost certainly the cause. It will need to be removed and properly disposed of ASAP, before it cracks open, exposing dangerous chemicals inside. If the battery is not expanding, check the cables from the trackpad and keyboard to the logic board to make sure they're properly connected. If you don't feel comfortable removing the cover and/or handling a bad battery, go to an Apple Store "genius" bar, where they can help: https://support.apple.com/contact.
