IOS11 update loses downloaded music

I updated to ios11 and all my music that I have downloaded to my iPad o listen to offline has gone!

i have tried logging out of the tunes and App Store and also switched on and off the iCloud music library. Restarted my iPad but nothing brings back my downloads. I need the music to get through a day at work!!

Why has Apple updates become so buggy? Steve would never allow this crap to go out to users!
