How do I select the starting position when prin...

How do I select the starting position when printing labels from Contacts please? If I only print one label from a sheet of 8 do I really have to throw away the remaining 7 blank unused labels? I have recently upgraded to MacBook Pro from an older `MacBook system on which I could use Now Contact - that was far superior. Thank you for any assistance.
