Macbook Pro SSD Swap Question

The logic board on my late 2013 Macbook Pro 15" is dead (screen is distorted black and white lines everywhere but still works fine with external display) and I was looking at replacement logic boards but they cost as much as my machine is worth.

If I buy another MBP same model can I take the SSD out of my current machine and just drop it into the replacement machine or would this cause problems? This way I won't have to start fresh or transfer any data. I have a lot of work and can't be without a machine for long. In theory it should work just wanted to know what you guys think.

Do both machines have to have the exact same specs for this to work? Example: 2.6ghz machine to a 2.0ghz machine or dual graphics machine to an integrated graphics machine. My machine was specd out to the max when I bought it in 2013 so it might be hard to find another machine with the exact same specs
