My .mov files are no longer playing on my Mac B...

Ok, this situation is very weird. My .mov files are no longer playing on my iMac. Quicktime won't no longer recognize the files. This is all video recorded on my iPhone 7 plus mainly. Something happened that I missed? What do I need to update? Please help this is very frustrating. Thanks, JJ. October 7 - 2017
