Apple Watch Upgrade Program

Can I trade in my Series 1 watch for a Series 2 watch.

Apple Watch is not presently included under the Renew / trade-in program:

You may wish to consider selling your watch privately and putting the proceeds towards your Series 2 purchase.

 

If doing so, be sure not to refer to your existing Apple Watch as a "Series 1". Series 1 does not refer to your previous, first generation watch. It instead refers to a new Apple Watch model that has the same features as the original Apple Watch, except for a new dual-core processor.

Thanks.  Please advise they should start the program so they can reuse the shell to make less environmental waste and for the tech to stay on top of the latest technology.

I hope they do soon. My series 1 watch is in for repair due to the backing coming offf of it. It's been cared for and I work from home so no much goes on around here. However, I workout in my spare time and I wonder if perspiration could be the issue or the very hot humid climate where I live. An Apple 2 series would be ideal and a worth free one for me. Plus, as stated I'm sure parts could be used to make this an environmentally friendly option as well.
