Constant kernel panics after migration

Hi,

before starting this thread, I've analyzed almost every post regarding kernel panics in Sierra after migration etc. From 2010 I'm a user of Macbook Pro 13' Mid 2010. This month I bought MacBook Pro 13' Mid 2016 with TouchBar from Apple Refurbished. On my old MacBook Pro 13' I have OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. Everything works great for me, I didn't have any startups problems, kernel panics, reboots in this whole 7 years.

When I purchased the new Macbook Pro everything was working just fine on it, on a clean install of OSX Sierra 10.12.6. After couple days of using it I decided that this is the time to migrate my whole system to the new MacBook from the old one. And that's where the problems started. I've chosen the migration assistant and started migrating from my Time Machine backup on the external drive. Everything went smoothly. But after installation on the first boot up my new Mac came to the reboot loop. The Apple loading bar went to the end, the login screen showed up for like 0.5 second and Macbook rebooted. And again and again. I've tried all the things like booting in the safe mode (same thing happened), NVRAM reset, SMC reset, diagnostics and others. So I went to the recovery mode, repaired the disk, same thing. Then I reinstalled the OSX from the recovery mode (cmd+r), same thing. Then I erased the drive and did a clean install and migrated my data with the Time Machine. Same thing. Everytime Apple progress bar goes to the end, login screen shows for 0.5 second or less and MacBook reboots. All peripherals are obviously disconnected.

So I went a little bit further and started reading about kernel panics and .kext files. I started to do the clean up of the unnessecery .kext files in /System/Library/Extensions/ and /Library/Extensions. I did all the things from the terminal in Recovery mode (I'm pretty good in using terminal commands, so everything went smoothly). So I deleted some of the .kext which were causing problems for other users of discussion board like kexts from HP or Canon printers or from Huawei devices. Sometimes i moved also other 3rd party kext files which I weren't sure what exactly was their purpose (after the moving (mv) to the other locations and did the disc checks and OS X reinstall), but nothing new happened. At some point I think I left only Apple system .kext files. So I went further to the LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons (although as I understand LaunchAgents and Daemons start only after login) and also did a removal (in /System/Library/ and /Library/ and also in /users folder) of some of the files which could have caused the panics. Nothing new happened. The system boots up, progress bar loads up, login screen (with my User name and password box) shows for a 0.5 second and system reboots. Again clean install of OSX from recovery, same thing.

I'm seeking for help. I don't consider fresh installation of OSX and copying my files manually as an option because I have so many important mail attachments, messages, libraries, programs and other that unfortunetely makes complete migration the only option for me. If it would help I can post here EtreCheck from my old Macbook Pro from which I'm migrating and below is the installation log from the new MacBookPro recovery. There are many things - errors with CGColorSpace, I don't know what exactly it is and if it is a problem.

Installation log - Oct 14 08:12:30 localhost opendirectoryd[165]: opendirectoryd (build 417.50.4) l - Pastebin.com

Can I access any kernel panic logs or any other logs straight from the terminal in OSX Recovery mode (cmd+r)?

I would appreciate any help or tips.

Thank you

Since it is failing to start after a clean install, there may be something wrong with the computer itself.

Hello,

thanks for your reply. It is not failing to start after a clean install (and chosing not to migrate). It is only failing when migrating, so during the installation process (or just after - in the set up) I choose to migrate. When I leave the migration process and set up the clean OSX the system works smoothly and without errors. Sorry, maybe it's a misunderstanding because of my not the best english. Unfortunetely there aren't any Apple Stores in my country and authorized service providers won't help me in any way, they are sending the Mac to the service center somewhere in Europe and since the Mac after clean install is working OK, they won't help me.

Regards

Is it feasible for you to use Migration Assistant just for your user account, then manually for the remainder ?.

It seems that something is causing restarts when loginwindow runs, but before user login; so perhaps your user data can be migrated without trouble.

You are welcome. I'm not sure I completely understand where you are right now, but after a clean install, try using Setup Assistant to restore your data. It seems to do much better than Migration Assistant.
