How do i fix the greyed out sync button on itunes

When i plug in my iphone 7 running ios 11.0.3 the button to sync is completely greyed out and when i unplug it and plug it back in to try and auto sync it starts for a seconds and stops straight away. I have tried syncing with my old iphone 5 and that works fine so it’s just my phone. I’ve tried restarting them, i’ve logged out and back in on my itunes, i’ve re-authorised my laptop, ive updated my phones drivers, i’ve even restored my phone and i still can’t sync. Does anyone have another fix i can try because i’ve searched everywhere and tried everything
