Jabber not sending messages

I get this when I try to send a message from the app.

However ....

I can respond when I get one of the side notifications.

I use this at work every day and would like to have it operational again. I have tried to re-add the google accounts, deactivate them several times but to no avail,

thoughts?

I think both Google Talk and Jabber are old technologies that are no longer supported. See this thread: Jabber in Messages - High Sierra
