Manage Google Voice & Audio Activity
You can let Google save a recording of your voice and other audio to your Google Account by turning on Voice & Audio Activity.
What's saved in your Voice & Audio Activity
Google records your voice and other audio, plus a few seconds before, when you use audio activations like:
- Saying commands like "Ok Google"
- Tapping the microphone icon
Your audio is saved to your account only when you're signed in and Voice & Audio Activity is turned on. Audio can be saved even when your device is offline.
Note: Not all apps support saving audio to your account.
How Voice & Audio Activity improves your experience
To help you get better results using your voice, Google uses your Voice & Audio Activity to:
- Learn the sound of your voice
- Learn how you say words and phrases
- Recognize when you say "Ok Google"
- Improve speech recognition across Google products that use your voice
Turn Voice & Audio Activity on or off
- Visit the Activity controls page. You may be asked to sign in to your Google Account.
- Turn the switch on or off.
When Voice & Audio Activity is off, voice inputs won't be saved to your Google Account, even if you're signed in. Instead, they may only be saved using anonymous identifiers.
See or delete your Voice & Audio Activity
Your Voice & Audio Activity is private, and can only be seen if you're signed in to your Google Account.
See your Voice & Audio Activity- Visit the Voice & Audio Activity page. You may be asked to sign in to your Google Account.
- On this page, you can see a list of your past voice inputs, and the date they were recorded.
Note: The "Transcript not available" message sometimes shows up when your microphone is turned off or there's background noise.
