Migration assistant for Mac Book Pro

I want to migrate bookmarks (Firefox browser) from an early version (2011) MacBook Pro to a new 2017 MacBook Pro. I tried doing it over my wifi network but it could not find the new 2017 Macbook Pro.  Unfortunately, the ports are different How can I hardwire it? Thanks for any ideas.

Why not just copy and paste the bookmarks from the old Mac into the corresponding folder on the new one?
