Recover "deleted" history from Safari. No histo...

Running a 2013 MacBook Pro. Machine started messing around and so I decided to restart as you do. I noticed that the "Show history", only seemed to show history from today (29th September 2017). I did upgrade recently to Safari 11.0 no idea if this has caused the issue.

Before anyone asks: No time machine configured, I did not actually go out of my way to delete the safari history which makes the whole scenario even more puzzling, there is no "history.plist" on my computer whatsoever, no idea how to use the DB Browser for SQLite. One thing which I find bizarre is that the following path:

Contains websites I have visited up to 2016.

No idea where to go really annoyed by this whole situation as I know I have not deleted the history and the settings state to delete manually!

I would be very grateful for some assistance in this matter please.
