Podcasts are being deleted with ipod synch and ...

Whenever I listen to a podcast on my ipod and synch it, the podcast gets deleted from my computer.

I'm pretty sure that I have the correct settings.

I've reinstalled iTunes twice, but that hasn't fixed the problem.

It is really annoying because some of the podcasts are old and cannot be downloaded again.

Possibly not if iTunes isn't doing what you want.

One problem is that you can change the default settings for all Podcasts or just for one particular series. Perhaps you think you have set all Podcasts to be kept, but in fact only changed one series. Note the difference in the following text.

Note whether you are using the List or Classic view. The options are are found in the top menu bar; View/View As/...

In Podcast List view:

To change all Podcast settings:

Click on the Defaults button (at the bottom of the window) and check that the option to Delete Played Episodes is turned Off.

To change one particular Podcast's settings:

Make sure you have selected the Podcast series you want to change and click on the Settings icon (towards the top of the window) and make sure that Delete Played Episodes is set to Off or the Default Setting (Off) (as mentioned above).

In Podcast Classic view:

To change all Podcast settings:

If you are using the Classic view, make sure you do not have any Podcast selected and then click on the Settings button (1.)  at the bottom of the window and check that the option to Delete Played Episodes is turned Off.

To change one particular Podcast's settings:

Make sure you have selected the Podcast series you want to change and click on the Settings button at the bottom of the window and make sure that Delete Played Episodes is set to Off or the Default Setting (Off) (as mentioned above).

I don't know how the setting got changed unless it changed with a software update.  I didn't have this problem until a few months ago and I've used iTunes for several years.

These things happen, it's one of life's mysteries.

Lost my podcast on my Mac it has most of my ring tones I made and now I lost them on my iPhone and iPad Pro. I lost it after 2 updates ago. Please help. Thanks
