How do you add epub or pdf files from Windows P...

It used to be quite easy to add my pdf and epub files from my Windows PC into itunes and then simply sync my iPad.

With the Itunes 12.7 and iOS 11, you can no longer do this!

So how do I go about adding new books, pdfs, etc into iBooks from a Windows PC that were not purchased via the App store or anyplace else? Is emailing myself every new pdf or epub the only solution now???

I also tried copying the files into my iTunes Media folder and sync but that didn't work either.

Why was this simple functionality changed?
