Audiobooks not playing after ios11 update

Since the ios 11 update (I am now using ios 11.0.2) I am having real trouble playing audiobooks in my 2012 BMW via the USB connection using "Apple Music" or is it picking up "iBooks" now? The audiobook will play for about 30 seconds then exit. Hitting playback will make it play for another 30 seconds then it exits again. Anyone any ideas to cure this?
