Why am I getting an error message for Instagram...

image.jpgI Have recently received my Apple Watch and I tried loading different apps, including Instagram. Instagram works fine on my iPhone 6 plus, however, when I try loading the feed on my apple watch, I get this error message. Any help??



Found the solution. Logout of instagram on your iPhone. Then Login again... it should work again on the watch.



I think you'll have to go back to Instagram on that - that's an error in their app somewhere (although the error might result from a bug in the Watch software, Instagram will need to diagnose it first)

 

A couple of things you could try (apologies if you've already tried):

 

- Delete the Instagram app (from the watch app on the phone), restart the watch and reinstall the app

- Reset the watch to factory and reinstall the app



I just tried uninstalling the app and restarting the watch and installing the app again and still got the same error message. This has been happening ever Since the watch was at factory settings. I'm guessing this error is on instagrams part and not the watch. I don't know if other people are getting the same message or if it's working for them.



The same thing just started happening to me? It worked the first couple months? Did you get to fix it?



I'm having the same issue as well. Any way to fix it?

This happened to me on first install. Had to uninstall the watch app and reinstall. It worked after that.



Thought I would post this as I have had the same issue with my Apple Watch and non of the other fixes worked.  What I did was log out of Instagram on my phone, remove Instagram from my Apple Watch shut down both my phone and my watch, turn them back on, log back into Instagram on my phone then re-install on my Apple Watch.....it then finally worked.....



I had same issue, considering the error prompt, it looks like there is disconnect from watch => phone

I did this and worked for me

- remove app from watch

- phone setting toggle background refresh activity  for instagram

- re-install app on watch

-boom -it works(basically the disconnect is resolved which was lost for some reason)



This resolved my problem so simply, I tried deleting, restarting, restoring, deleting instagram from phone, adding it, looked for an apple watch 3rd party instagram app... All to find out I just needed to log out and log in on my phone. Thank you



The message my wife was getting on her Series 1 Apple Watch was just slightly different, but it was a disconnect between the phone and the watch.  I uninstalled the app from the watch, logged out of the app and deleted it on the phone, and then reinstalled it on the phone (which also put it on the watch again), and everything worked once she logged back in to her account on the phone.



I have exactly the same problem! It never worked, 8 always get that **** error message. Were you able to fix it?



One year later, the Instagram app has the same problem (The error message with WatchOS 3 / iOS 10 is "Network Connection Lost"). And the trick from bluetang11 still fixes the issue for me: Logout/Login from your Instagram account on the iPhone. Note that it is pretty painless, since there is an option to remember the credentials(login/password), so no need to retype the password at login on the iPhone.
