I downloaded WhatsApp for desktop but wanted to...

So I wanted to download the WhatsApp application and started using it. When I wanted to fully close the app, nothing happened. A bit later, when I decided to delete it, this showed up. (See picture) I forced it to quit and restarted my MacBook and now it looks like it's gone. But how do I know for sure? Because it said something with irreparable when I wanted to open the icon you see in the picture.
