Magic Keyboard 2 Battery Suddenly Drains Rapidly

Hello all,

 

Recently, my Magic Keyboard 2's battery power suddenly drains very quickly. Out of the 3 new wireless devices (Magic Keyboard 2, Magic Track Pad 2 and Magic Mouse 2) the Magic Track Pad's battery usually drains the fastest because I use it the most often. The keyboard normally can last more than a week, average of about 50 hours of use a week, but I leave it on even if the iMac is shut down.

 

Now I have to charge the keyboard the 2nd time since the last 3 devices were charged, normally like I said the Magic Track Pad 2 has to be charged first.

 

Anyway to improve its battery life? Like I said it only started to drain quickly recently.

I've just started getting this problem too since updating to 10.12.4 on my Retina 5K 27-Inch Late 2015.

 

Keyboard is drawing about 30% a day, even when I'm not using it.

Check if you have no keys stuck. I came up to this post with same problem and remembered that one month ago I accidentally got out the F7 key, tried to fix it but looks like it was stuck all the time and was sending that F7 keys signal which possibly drained the battery (I noticed that I had problems with typing big U letter because of the stuck F7). Good luck, maybe this helps!
