Macbook Pro Startup

2010 macbook pro

Before typing in my password upon startup I see a white loading screen with an apple logo. Does anyone know how to stop this from happing it makes startup painfully slow. Just installed a new SSD and updated to newest OS. Fresh install haven't loaded anything onto the computer yet. Thanks.

See if your startup disk is properly selected: System Preferences > Startup Disk > select internal drive.
