external monitor scaling support MacBook pro La...

Does anybody know why Apple have chosen not to make scaling available when using a high resolution external monitor?

I can use my almost 4k monitor but have to suffer everything being really small. I can change the resolution but then everything is really fuzzy.

I'm also running bootcamp (hard drive partition with Windows 10) and Windows offer full support for large resolution monitors. I get crisps line at a magnification level I can read. To have the same experience I have to use the inbuilt retina screen on OSX.

But I just found out that the new MacBooks support scaling. Since my windows partition can scale Apple have clearly made a decision not to support scaling?

Seriously, Logic is now the only reason I haven't sold my MacBook and just bought a PC!!!
