the screen look very milky

So, I'm running Sierra since it came out and just a week ago what started happening is the screen look very milky every time I open the screen and then after a couple of minutes or if I cover the light sensor and take my finger again it goes back to sharp color as normal.

This looks related to the brightness adjustment but it's strange that it only started happening recently after the mac not being used for like 2 weeks (I was on vacation and this is my work computer)
