Apple Watch Series 3 and Wi


Hi everyone,

I currently have an Apple Watch Series 2 which I already know won't connect to 5GHz Wi-Fi or public networks that require logins, subscriptions, or profiles.

 

  1. I'm wondering if this capability will be available on the Apple Watch Series 3?
  2. Why can't the Apple Watch connect on 5Ghz Wi-Fi?
  3. What is causing this limitation? Software or Hardware?

Apple Watch Series 3 is also not compatible with 5GHz Wi-Fi networks.

 

I'm afraid that no-one here can tell you why Apple decided on that specification.
