how can I test hardware on a 2007 iMac?

My hard drive is clicking a bit. And it's old. How can I preemptively diagnose a hard drive on a 2007 iMac? I have the install DVD and can test it with Disk Utility. Is that all there is?

A clicking hard drive is usually indicative of it failing. Assume the worst and get it replaced!

Klaus is correct - a clicking drive is not good. But for future reference: If memory serves, you should have 2 discs and one of the, in writing around the edge of the disc will say Hardware Test. That's the disc you want to start up with while holding the D key.
