Hello. I received a doc file attachment by email on the iPad Pro.  I've opened it and would like to save it as a PDF So I can sign it. How do I do this Please?

Use Apple's Pages application on your iPad to read the .doc file and convert it to PDF and save the result.

If you have not acquired Pages from the App Store:

Thank you. I took this step on the iPad Pro. But in the pages app on the iPad Pro i don't see a 'save as' option to save it as a PDF. There isn't an export option I see either.   I saved the original word doc as a PDF to my icloud Drive.   Are the other options available?

Then opened that new PDF file and hit mark up with the Apple Pencil. anywhere i touch gets inked/marked. How do I turn off the ink so I can just scrolll?

thanks.

In the Pages on your iPad Pro with the Word document opened, tap the ... (threed dots) on the top right corner of the screen, and then on Send a Copy.

Select the PDF option and then choose an App in which to store it as a PDF.   Generally iBooks or other PDF handling App. You cannot save the PDF directly in Pages.

Depending on what App you used to view the PDF, will be the way to get out of Markup mode. By default a small Pen tip in a circle at the top right corner, tap it again to exit Mark Up mode.
