Changing date in icloud mail from American to B...

Hi there

The dates of my emails in icloud mail have changed to the American format mm/dd/yy.  Is there any way of changing it to dd/mm/yy?  I have searched the forum for similar questions which I think are now out of date..any help gratefully received!

How is the date formate set in your System/Language & Region/Advanced/Dates preference pane?

Thank you for your reply.  The problem is with the web-based version of icloud mail, rather than the apple mail app on my computer, so all my language and region settings are ok..

Have you checked the settings in your Apple ID account to make sure the right time zone, etc. are set? That's the only other place I know of (or remember) that pertains to dates and times.

Yes, I've checked my settings and everything is UK, so it's a bit of a mystery!

I know this thread is a bit old now, but the information provided here does not work in all scenarios and some people obviously do not read the question properly before responding!

The only way I managed to change my iCloud email settings (in the web) from US American to UK English date format from MM/DD/YYYY to DD/MM/YYYY was to:

Log into iCloud and go to the main settings page.

Click the 'Time Zone / Region' setting (even though these may be correct for the zone you want)

In the box that appears, UNTICK the 'Make Formats Match Language' option

Then select another language at random from the option list, don't save, then select 'English' again

Then choose 'Done'

When I then went into iCloud mail on the Web, I checked my email and it was now in the correct DD/MM/YYYY format for UK English.

I also had to go into iCloud Calendar and change the format there too.

Apple can't seem to get this simple but annoying thing right.

Problem solved for me.
