I am having an issue with my apple tv remote co...

I am having an issue with my apple tv remote controlling my MacBook pro (2011 version). I have the "disable infrared sensor" option in advance option tab under "security and privacy" in system preferences selected. Yet, if I pick the apple tv remote up and pass volume up, it turns up the volume on my mac. Have anyone come across this issue before? Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I have an exact same problem. I have just upgraded my Mac OS to High Sierra with late 2011 MacBook Pro.

However I can't disable Apple TV remote despite having "disable infrared sensor" option in advance option.It looks like there's a bug with the new OS High Sierra and hope Apple team sends out a new update to fix this
