Cannot enter password for iCloud

To be clear...I can't ENTER it.  It says I need to update my password but it will not let me click int he password field to enter it.  The only active part of the box is cancel.  Nothing else.  So I'm in an endless loop.

When I try to click in the field for the password, it is dead, inactive, etc.  It does not become a text cursor.  Nothing on the box is alive except cancel.
