I have Ipod/i/tunes songs on my computer. When ...

I have an Ipod Nano. Songs are listed on my Computer using Windows 7. I am unable to play a song which is selected. I get the following message:  "the song "September Song" could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"  Checking locate leads me nowhere. The songs will play in Shuffle mode but I cannot select an individual song and play it without the above message. Solution?
