Why is my Apple Watch waking up to the stopwatc...

I just updated my 1 gen watch last night to the new iOS. Now when I look at my watch to see the time, the watch wakes up on the stopwatch app instead of the watch face that I have chosen. If I click the round button, it will go to the watch face. I tried turning it off and turning it back on, restarting it, deleting the stop watch from my shortcuts and from my face options and it isn’t working. It’s really annoying because it doesn’t allow me to see whether or not I have notifications, or to easily see the time and date. Any suggestions would be welcome!
