Put .mov on to a DVD

I have been sent a film, saved as a .mov file.

I want to be able to watch the film on a PC hooked up to a projector. The IT guy has asked for me to put the film on a DVD for him to use on the PC. I don't think he wants to copy the file to his PC, but play the DVD on his PC and project it.

How do I do this?

Do I simply drag the .mov file to a blank DVD and press 'burn'? Will this work on a PC? Or does this simply burn the file to the DVD disk, but not actualy make it a playable DVD?
