wi fi connectivity

Wifi connects whenever I start my iMac. The router is 10 ft away from the iMac.

However, after 15-20 minutes the connection drops out.

My other devices (iPad, iPad mini, & iPhone are all unaffected).

(Very) short term fix is to restart iMac or restart router.

I am only able to 'piggy back' iPad via USB (not bluetooth or wi-fi).

Any solutions, please?

You can try deleting the Wifi Service in System Preferences->Network and then adding it anew. This may or may not help, but it is easy to try. If it doesn't then there is probably some software conflict. I recommend you run Etrecheck and post its report here so we can look for possible reasons.

Have you tried restarting/resetting the router?

Also try turning off Bluetooth.

If your Wi-Fi source is capable of generating a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network, try that to help avoid conflicts with Bluetooth.
