Can emoji go on a Bluetooth keyboard

I have a new iPad mini which I've put on emoji and now I've got a Bluetooth keyboard, can emoji work on the new keyboard & how do i do it? Thank you.

Here's the SOLUTION...

Juse hit the FUNCTION (FN) key on your Bluetooth Keyboard...

and voila! the Emoticons will pop up!

It may depend on your keyboard because Fn does not help me.

However Ctrl+Space allows you to switch though the keyboards. When you switch to the Emoji keyboard it will pop up on the screen. When I Ctrl+Space back to the English keyboard the on screen keyboard closes.
