How to upload a video clip to iCloud?

Hi folks,

  I have iCloud setup for all of my computers (mostl MacPro) for iCloud.  Everything wokrs fine but this issue:  iCloud is able to autmomatically sync my photos from my iPhoto and share them with other MacPros; however, it won't load and sync a video clip in iPhoto - from Sony Cybershot Rx100 - to other MacPro!

  My questions are:

1 - What do I need to do in order for iCloud to automatically upload my video clip (in iPhoto) to the iCloud then share it with other MacPro?

2- If iCloud is not able to autmomatically upload my video clip, is there a way for me to mannually upload and download the video clip to/from the iCloud?

Also I'm not sure if the video clip should be placed in the right place in order for iCloud to upload and share with other MacPro?  When I plug my camera to my MacPro vua USB port iPhoto automacatically displays the photo files and the video file in it.  iPhoto would be able import both the phto and video files though, but I'm not sure if the video clip is supposed to be upload (by default?) to the iPhoto?

  Any help/suggestion/recommendation is greatly appreciated!

I saw in announcements that new ios7 and icloud enable video uploading.

how do I do that?

Hi thanks for the info- i followed the steps however Im not able Drag the new folder to the "Favorites" section of the Finder Sidebar....

you need to create an alias of the new folder and drag the alias to the side bar. you can then delete the alias once is on the side bar

I'm sorry but I did not find Winston's reply very useful.  Talked about Documents syncing, which is through iPhone settings and he didn't say if you could then treat videos as documents. Very vague.

I have found the following workaround possible, to at least get the videos shot with my iPhone transferred to iCloud and then my Macbook Pro laptop.

In the iPhone Photos app, I had created "iCloud Photo Sharing" albums to share with iCloud, and with my husband's iPhone. I had found that occasionally photos that I had taken on my iPhone didn't transfer to iCloud and then to my large photo albums on my laptop, or I wanted to transfer photos from my husband's iPhone to me to iCloud (since he doesn't have an iCloud account).

In the iPhone Photo App, go to iCloud Photo Sharing by opening up the cloud "Shared" icon. Then use the + button on the upper left.  The new iCloud box will let you create a new album by giving it a title like "Transfers to iCloud" which will then show up in addition to the default Activity album. 

Now, going back to your Photos group of photos and videos, you open the video(s) you want transferred and use the Sharing box at the lower left.  With that video selected, scroll across the destination icons (Message, Mail, ... Facebook, ) to iCloud Photo Sharing.  When you select that, it should show the small iCloud box again.  At the bottom of the box, you should either see or be able to select the new Shared Album "Transfers to iCloud".  With that selected, then you hit the Post button on the upper right of that small iCloud box.

That should get the video into iCloud.  I usually do one at a time.

Then on your laptop, when you open iPhoto you should have a new item in the lefthand column.  In addition to the default Photos and Memories at the top, you will next have Shared items.  In that list after the default Activity item, you should now see "Transfers to iCloud" as an album.  VOILA! Your videos will be there.

Note:  it will take a few minutes or more for those videos to be visible there as they sync up through iCloud.
