downloaded os 10.12.6 and now all desktop files...

downloaded os 10.12.6 and now all desktop files are missing.  Anyone else have that problem?

I don't know if it is supposed to show the Desktop folder on the actual Desktop or not (I don't use it).

It does use up a lot of space if you have a lot of files.

If you don't want to use it, you don't have to. If you want to turn it off, it is in the iCloud Drive Options.

Let me know if you want to do that and I'll give the quick 'n dirty steps and what to watch out for.

Check under iCloud Drive in the Sidebar.

The default configuration of Sierra is to turn on Desktop & Documents in iCloud Drive. The setup assistant asks if you want to enable it with the default being "enable."

With Desktop & Documents enabled, all of your Desktop and Documents folders' contents are sync'd into iCloud Drive.

While the files haven't moved, the Finder displays your Desktop and Documents folders in iCloud Drive.

I see the files when I go to iCloud.  So what do you do IF you want them, or some of them on the desktop?

It does free up a lot of space on the desktop, however isn't that using a good bit of iCloud space as well?

Thanks for all your help.  It's good to know I can get them back on the desktop, but I'm starting to enjoy the clean desktop.  :-)   So, I guess I'll leave well enough alone and when I have time I'll go through some of the files and start deleting some.  It's mostly a lot of folders where you say I'll gonna read this or keep this for future, however never seem to get to.

I have the same problem.  Although I have no files in my Icloud folder and can't find files anywhere...help???
