Airdrop live photos to another mac

Hey guys,

I am trying to transfer all of my photos from my MacBook to my iMac to free up some storage.

How can I do this so it keeps all of the live photos as live photos?

Usb/hard drive obviously doesn't work... I assumed that airdrop would, however after transferring because they save to the downloads folder they become separate pictures/videos.

Is there anyway to change the destination of where they airdrop too(iPhoto), or another way to do this that I am completely missing?
