How to get out of bash

So long story short, I need to be on the #root to apply a graphical issue fix to my MBP 2011 15 inch (common problem)

When accessing the terminal it has me on bash-3.2# and every command i put in it says "command not found"

Any solutions to this? Tried several fixes with the keyboard recovery shortcuts but nothings worked.
