Safari won’t open no matter what

Hello, for the past few days I have been trying to use the internet with my 2010 MacBook Pro, but safari will not open. If I click on safari the icon won’t bounce but if I try to open another application (like photos) it opens without a problem. Even when I check force close to see if it’s recognized in there, safari won’t show up. The other day there was this thing through the App Store that wanted me to update safari through there so I clicked it but after that it said that it’s not supported on my device and I haven’t been able to use safari since.
