How could some people unlock iCloud activation!...

Hello,

I feel unsafe by using my iPhone and Apple products , because i just find some websites and people who unlock the iCloud activation just by giving them your device IMEI !!

I don't know how they can do that but they said that they can remove the previous iCloud account from the device , that's mean they remove the link between the account and the device ! .

Why apple offered this service to some people only ??

AND please do not tell me that this is impossible because my friend just unlock his sister iPhone 5s !!! And another friend unlock his iPhone 5 too . The service cost around 150$ .

First, it is strongly recommended that you not give out your device's IMEI number, that is why the hosts edit that information out when users include it in posts on here.

Second, if a device has been hacked or jailbroken there is little or no security remaining, this sort of invasion can occur for those devices.

Third, proper security means keeping your Apple ID and iCloud account information confidential, and using strong passwords, and setting a passcode on the iOS device. 

Fourth, Apple does not do these kinds of unlockings for users...you would have to get a court order to get their help with this.

Proper security on your part is the key to protecting your device.

But how they could by pass iCloud activation without taking my device's ! they just need the IMEI number , and we all know that all my device's are linked to my iCloud account , so they just delete that link ! but how ?

One more think the whole operation toke around 7-10 days to be done .

Apple can unlock your iPhone if you can prove that phone belongs to you (official receipt) so does authorized resellers (I believe). They just have their person to access database and unlock it. IMEI is used to identify device and know which Apple ID is tight to it. Non of those services can unlock phone in lost or erased mode also those which contain message from owner. Technically they can but that would raise the flag.

But what about those guys who offers that service without needing any of my peraonal information , they just need my IMEI ! How could Apple authorised that ! This is really unacceptable

Apple hasn't authorized that.

Who did then ?

We need a replay because it seems wrong that some people somehow could delete the link between an account and the device's !

if the device is on ios 7.1 or above there's two things.

1) the device may be restored to factory settings - but the phone can't be activated. imei unlock is different to Iphone activatio. - your friend unlocked it to use any sim in any country. iOS 7 forces you to restore the phone and reimpit the original icloud login. This can only be solved if you a)forgot the login/changed  it, and can prove to apple youre the owner; b) to get the original owner to deauthorize his account associated with the phone, on his/her computer.

2)if there's also a Passcode lock on the phone, and the last registered sim doesn't work (in the case of a stolen phone) - then it's impossible for you to do anything, full security = restore will lead to activation lock immediately. There's no bypass to it, the fake videos online only allow a bypass if the device was a 'jailbrokem' one - which would invalidate apple trying/ever wanting to help you.

if you know who the phone belonged to previously (usually comes up with the icloud username on it) then you can ask them to deactivate it.

otherwise, you have what we call - a brickb- won't even work as a super iPod touch

I know those thinks but how they remove the link between the iDevice's and iCloud account's ?

How can apple's support reset your password? They would ask you to answer your security questions and they know answers so technically they can reset it without you knowing. If you can access Apple GSX and check imei this is what you see url name, surname, email, address and so on. This is enough lets say find you on Facebook and get your birthday. It's also depends that's your security questions are. Where's a lot of evidences if a question is what the name of your best friend I might look with person you have most photos with and so on. If it's what your moms maiden name your mom might have Facebook too or I might look through white papers and find something where. This is called social engineering and hackers love it. It's basically a high rank person from apple or just a good investigator. Someone might fill special form and request to move apple iCloud (where's special form on Apple GSX to fill) and you need to add proof (receipt of purchase) no one can guarantee  that someone who works lets say at authorised resellers place can actually print a genuine looking receipt with phone's serial number on it and even add it to they shop database or so on. It's basically looking for loopholes in system that's why this service is so expensive. Plus I would worry about it at all most unlockers can unlock only phone which weren't reported as stolen and not showing message from owner because officially no one wants to try to reset password in this situation cuz that can raise red flag at apple and no one wants their access to Apple GSX to be suspended (people who have access to it are even authorised resellers or apple technicians so they wouldn't risk it) and even if phone is impossible to unlock (just takes too much pain) they going to sell it for parts or sell it to some dumb people who have no idea what they buying.

People are opened their device's only by given their IMEI to those guy's who could remove the link between your device and apple server's !!

As mohdows says ....it is possible to remove the icloud lock of an apple device ...this is done without apples consent btw imei is all that is needed...there are services out there that  just by using the imei number i can find out ur apple id...topic to your secret questions....and these days  as some 1 said before a facebook serach reveals dob...pets names ...ect  what are most commonly used in passwords
