Resetting el capitan to factory settings

Recently tried reset my 2011 Macbook Pro with El Capitan to its factory settings to wipe off everything that was on there. When I go to reinstall El Capitan through disk utility it asks me to log into my apple ID, so I do and it tells me "This item is temporarily unavailable. Try again later." How do I get to where it will let me reinstall the OS?
