iSight camera not working since macOS Sierra up...
ok stump the dummy it seems that my iSight camera quit working after upgrading to Sierra Help
I have the exact same problem, I'm using a 2012 MacBook air, what about you? NVRAM and other resets don't work, yet my camera was fine under the previous OS. The update has messed it up, after reboot it works about 5 minutes and stops. I created a new user account, same problem
Any luck?
Did all that too even tried reset via terminal reboot lasted about ten minutes. Tried other apps like iGlasses still broken.
I will update to the latest Sierra beta and let you know if it solves the problem or not, because my camera only works after reboot for a few minutes , and thats all, nothing else fixes it , has to be a software issue with Sierra, i never had any problems before
Thank you let me know.
Sierra beta 1, (the latest beta) did not fix the camera issue and it makes my computer crash some on start up, so now its worse than it was before =(
Thats no good I won't install the new beta then on Mac mini.
I also tried creating a new admin account, and only testing photo booth, and FaceTime, camera comes on a few times, but after exiting the app and opening again it not longer works . Seems in system profiler its sometimes detected or not
I installed windows 10 in bootcamp and the camera works perfectly with all apps there, the problem, is with OSX Sierra , or some software on our computer under OSX. The camera is fine, it has to be a software problem
I Am finding the samething through my testing as well. I wonder how long it will take for apple to fix this bug.
I found the problem for me was this https://forum.parallels.com/threads/parallels-desktop-disables-isight-camera-on- macbook-pro-with-os-x-sierra.338294/
parallels was causing the issue!
Now that's what is happening to me wonder when a fix will come from Parallels folks.
Here's a reddit thread with some potential solutions, none of which worked for me. https://www.reddit.com/r/mac/comments/53t2hg/camera_not_working_after_macos_sier ra_update/
Any progress on this? I have a mid-2010 MacBook Pro and iSight stopped working since the Sierra upgrade. Now on 10.12.6. Tried almost everything out there. Wondering if this might work: https://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/669
