iOS 10 Music App: Lyrics Error
I have just upgraded my iPhone to iOS 10. When I was using iOS 9, the lyrics appeared just fine (by simply touching the screen). However, I cannot seem to find the lyrics for any of my downloaded songs. I only have downloaded songs since I am not subscribed to Apple Music. I know where the lyrics button should be, but it doesn't appear on my list of options. Any ideas...?
if you push on the tab song is in play mode (near the bottom of the screen), open a window pop up with the album picture, the play and pause mode, the volumen and if you drag this window to the top of the screen appears the tab named Lyrics, tap this and open the lyrics of the song are in play mode.
The problem is that in mi iPhone 6s this tab Lyrics (I see and know it because I learn this in a tutorial on the web) doesn't appear, no exist the Lyrics tab
Perhaps is because I haven't account in Apple Music, but I have a lot of songs, own songs, with Lyrics in iTunes on my MacPro where I sync my iPhone 6s, and see the lyrics on the songs after I paste the text in the info song > lyrics tab.
I see the Lyrics in the same iPhone with iOS 9 and previous version, pressing the album cover, but when I upgrade to iOS 10, I can't see the lyrics tab, and the lyrics of my songs...
Anybody can help us?
Thanks in advance!
Perhaps this solve your problem: (this solve my problem)

Try unsyncing the music and resyncing.
And... tacháaaaaaannnn, runs fine now and I see the lyrics of my songs, now runs fine and perfect
Hope to help you
I wan to tell you that I erase app music and reinstall the app before unsyncing and resyncing
According to Kirk McElhearn (author of Macworld's "iTunes Guy" column), this is a flaw in IOS 10's Music app. It therefore will need to be fixed by Apple.

iOS 10 Music App Only Displays Lyrics for Apple Music Songs
Apple has added lyric search and display to iTunes, and this feature was available in iOS 10 betas. You could view lyrics for your own music, if you had added lyrics to the tracks, and iTunes and the Music app would look for lyrics if you hadn’t. However, in the shipping version of iOS 10, this feature has been changed. You can only view lyrics for Apple Music tracks. If your music contains lyrics that you added in iTunes, there’s no way to view them in the Music app.… I’ve added lyrics to a lot of my music, and I can view those lyrics in iTunes. I would expect to be able to view them on iOS, which I have been able to do for many years.
I've bad news!!!
My lyrics disappear again
I don't know if they are lost again when I upgrade to IOS 10.0.2...
I don't understand why in my Mac Pro I can see the lyrics (I put in the info tab Lyrics before - Copy/paste- A lot of work along the time when I digitalized my CD's music) and, in my iPhone / app Music, I can´t see them
(I haven't got account in Apple music because I buy all my music in CD format, and I digitalize the music in the quality I need and I want, and all the music is mine, without problems id Apple and similar headaches I Have got in the last time, no more)
Dear Sir of Apple, can you help us with this lyrics issue???
Pleeeeaaaaaase!!!!!!!
Hello, I was in the same situation as you and today I noticed one song which was showing lyrics. The reason appears that I had renamed it and iTunes had then refreshed the lyrics data.
I've done this:
- Rename the albums that should have lyrics to something like "albumname_", adding a underscore to the original name.
- Sync.
- Rename back to original "albumname".
- Sync.
- After the second sync, lyrics appear for me.
Hope it helps.
PS: I'm using latest 10.1 beta, not the release.
i frankly do not see why do we have to go to so much trouble just to view lyrics which are already embedded in the music file. Apple - stop rolling out new functions without testing it fully!
DID you figure out why you were having this problem. because this problem happened to me. and i know how im suppose to be able to see the lyrics in ios 10 and ive tried both of the methods.. and nothing.
Same here. Having worked in IT for 37 years this sort of thing doesn't surprise me Apple continue to play around with the Music app but seem to have forgotten to test the basics.
This sort of failure will only push people away to other products, so it should get sorted quickly.
@Apple (assuming they are seeing this), when are you going to fix this problem?
I have this question too
have problem too because when I was using iOS 9 everything are okay but now It's now work !!!
what can I do ?
You can do wait to Apple solve this issue.... someday?
I guess this problem of music lyrics in the iPhone music app has people who haven't got any subscription with Music and Apple wants the people pay a subscription if we want to see the lyrics of our songs, our own lyrics... incredible!
It is really evil treatment of Apple to its customers and a dominant abuse, from my opinion. (The same D. Trump style?)
This problem takes from the update of iOS 10 and I don´t think that Apple wants to solve it.
It's simple, Apple is not interested.
Perhaps if there are a lot of people report about this issue, perhaps Apple think to "solve" (unblock) this bad behavior... only perhaps
Best wishes and a long wait, I think about...
Very disappointing, indeed. It took me weeks to set up lyrics for my favorite 500 songs, and now iOS simply ignores them. In iOS 10.0.0, the lyrics feature at first was hidden very cleverly, but since the 10.1.1 update no lyrics at all can be displayd. I re-checked any iTunes features, they are correct. When I transfer the songs to my iPhone 7, nothing is there to see. A fantastic enhancement, just one more in a VERY long row.
I had the same problem and this worked for me.
- I plugged my phone into iTunes on my Mac and clicked onto my phone.
- I unchecked the box that tells you to sync songs and clicked on apply. This removed all my songs.
- As soon as it was done I check the box to reinstall my songs and re-synced.
- After it was done I had lyrics to all my songs.
I would imagine it would work with a PC too.
Hope this helps you
I also did the same thing and it turned the music lyrics back on, but...
If you look at my previous comments you will see that I wrote the same, time ago...
If you wait some time, I don't know, but in some resynchronization or update you will return to the starting box, and your lyrics of Music will disappear again ... Then, you will again be disappointed with Apple ...
You wait a while and you'll see
Best wishes
