old ipad apple id password unknown

Hi,
I've recently found an old iPad. Just factory reset it and need my old apple iD password to restart it, which I cannot remember. The email is now non-existent so can't send an email for forgot my password.
HELP, please!

Start here: If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support

You should be provided with at least three methods to reset your password:

1. Security Questions
2. Via email (which won't work in this case as you stated)
3. Recovery Key

If If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support doesn't help then contact: Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security - Apple Support

Apparently my security question answers are incorrect and do not have a recovery key.
The account was made about 4 years ago, and haven't used that apple id since.

Is there any hope?
