Macbook Pro storage error.

So yesterday I was checking my storage i had left and was very surprised that for some odd reason my  Macbook Pro (Late 2012) thought I had 1.6 TB of apps, even though my computer only has 120GB of storage. Since then that number has rose to 3.27 TB. I have tried restarting multiple times, and have just waited till the next day but the problem still persists. Any suggestions? TY -Hans H :3

The Storage report is all too often wrong, but I think that's the farthest off I've heard of. It's fed information from Spotlight, so sometimes rebuilding the Spotlight index can help: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201716
