Export Contacts to Outlook365

I just started a new job at a company that uses Outlook365.  I need a way to export my Contacts to Outlook.  I was able to export my contacts to an .abbu file.  I think I did it correctly: Contacts/File/Export/Export Vcard . There wasn't an option to select all.  The resulting abbu file is huge - 139MB! (I think I have about 1,500 contacts.)

Two questions:

     1. Does it make sense that the file is that large?

     2. I know the next step is to convert the abbu file to a csv format.  What's the best way to do that on my iMac (not iPhone)?  I've seen a couple of apps mentioned... Suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

You can move your contacts to an account that will sync to Outlook. In addition to Exchange, Outlook 2016 now syncs to outlook.com or gmail.com contacts and calendars.

I would go the IMAP or Exchange route. Add an account in System Preferences > Internet Accounts and check contacts and calendars.

In Contacts.app, select all contcts and drag them to the account you added.

Add the account in Outlook 2016 and your contacts will sync up to Outlook.

You can also move your calendars if desired.

The fact that the file is .abbu would indicate that you did File menu > Export > Contacts Archive rather than File menu > Export > Export Vcard.

Before you do the export, do Edit menu > Select All; all of the contacts will be highlighted after you do that and will then be included in the export.

Thanks, FoxFifth! Much smaller file as a result!

Thanks, dianeoforegon! I wasn't familiar with Exchange, but am now.  The highlighting and dragging is working perfectly!

Glad it's working for you.
