Deleting pdf pages in Preview

There appears to have been a change in the resulting action when deleting a page from a multi-page PDF in the Preview app through the "Thumbnails" pane.

For example: I have a 10 page PDF open in Preview and want to delete page 7...

In Preview Version 8: Once I hit the delete key and page 7 is gone, page 8 is the next automatically selected page.

In Preview Version 9: Once I hit the delete key and page 7 is gone, page 1 is the page I end up on.

Basically, the behavior of version 8 where it selects the "next" page is very helpful for me.

When Version 9 sends me back to the beginning of my document, it's a waste of time having to get back to where I was if I need to continue to work on the following pages.

What I'm hoping to find out is if the behavior of version 9 just "does things differently" or is a feature/preference that needs to be turned/selected to get it to function how it does in version 8.
