Can’t review dictated text message before...

Ever since updating my devices to iOS 11 and my watchOS to 4.0, I’ve found it impossible to scroll a dictated text message to review it, before sending it. I believe I used to be able to scroll dictated texts before the update. This is a big problem because Siri doesn’t always get it right and I want to read the entire message before it goes out. If the message is a little long, the top portion is off screen and I can’t see it or scroll to review it. I’ve tried swiping and using the crown on the side. I’ve sent several messages with errors that were not discovered until they were sent; now it is unsafe to send any dictated texts longer than just a few words.
