IPad Pro Smart Keyboard Issues

I've had my iPad Pro and apple Smart Keyboard for over a year.  The last couple months I have been experiencing intermittent issues with my keyboard.  It will stop working in mid sentence or get stuck and delete a whole line of text.  I had turn my iPad on and off, I have disconnected the keyboard and I have checked to make sure the connection points are clean.  Has anyone else experiencing similiar problems?  Does anyone have suggestions to fix the problem.

I love my pro and keyboard, but really don't want to buy a new keyboard, but this issue is causing me difficulty.

I see from your post that you are having some issues with the Smart Keyboard not functioning as you would expect for the past few months. It appears you are having intermittent issues with the keyboard that does stop working while you are typing in mid sentence or it can get stuck and delete a whole line of text. You have done some great troubleshooting thus far, thanks. 

If possible, I would recommend testing the Smart Keyboard out on another iPad Pro and see if the issue persists on that device.

I have the same problem with the smart keyboard on my iPad Pro.  I find that sometimes by disconnecting and then reconnecting the keyboard that it will often begin to work.  I also feel that the keyboard might interfere with the charging of the iPad. 

At times the large charging icon flashes and there is an intermittent sound from the iPad.  If allowed to continue this runs the battery down very rapidly.  The only way to stop this seems to be close the iPad down. 

I am having this problem too. On typing it randomly delete whole paragraphs of text and randomly pastes in text that is cached from copy function. Only had the iPad Pro and Keyboard for a week but now considering returning it.

Having the same issue.  Typing is sordatic, and 1/2 the time the error message tha tthis device is not supported comes up.  All started with last updates and error comes up daily, usually after the ipad goes to sleep.  Very frustrating.  But In typical fashion of late, at least i have many emojis to pick from!  Since that is the only thing apple can release lately

Gee, that's just so helpful. I'm sure we all bought several thousand dollar iPad pros. Any real fixes?

Mine is not staying connected, also delays when it does connect. Of course it's only been OUT OF WARRANTEE a few months. Pretty expensive product and no solutions available short of buying a NEW KEYBOARD.

Why is Apple silent on this issue. Apparently many people are experiencing issues with the Smart Keyboard!

I have exactly the same problem. At the beginning it was intermittent, now it is permanent.

Did you resolve it ? Any answer from Apple ?

As my keyboard was still under warranty they replaced it. The Apple Store in Amsterdam said that they had not encouterd this malfunction before ....... makes you wonder doesn't it with all the things being written about it on the web ........

Try the steps below


 

1. Detatch ipad of out keyboard and turn off (no need to reset/reboot)

2. Now detach the keyboard magnet end off the magnetic contact and reattach.

3. Turn on your ipad with wifi connection and slide it down to the keyboard to get attached to the magnetic contact to be in place. (While doing so, power cable needs to be unplugged)
