Apple id not known,

Hello, A friend of mine was gifted this ipad, she was assisted by a staff at work to setup apple id. On resetting it is asking for apple id which she does not know and that staff who assisted is no longer working.

please assist on way forward,

She needs to find and contact the person whose account it's locked to.

Or, and if she has proof of purchase, she could try going to an Apple Store (she should make a Genius Bar appointment if she does) or try contacting iTunes Support online (https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html) and see if they can remove the iPad from the account - they are likely to want to see proof of ownership before they might help e.g. original receipt with the serial number on it

I have used the Itunes Support Online, will wait for their reply.

There is no proof of purchase as attached pic of the ipad it was gifted for excellence in journalism to her. We dont have a centre in Tanzania to take to for proof, The only proof is the actual ipad showing her names engraved at the back.

An engraving on the iPad is unlikely to taken as proof of purchase.
