Network Hard Drive And Permission Issues

Hello everyone. I am having permission problems with an external hard drive connected on my home network. Here is what I have:

2TB USB hard drive connected to my router via USB port.

Hard drive is in FAT32 so the router can see it and use it.

Router is set to give full read, write, and execute permissions to the home network.

On my iMac and Macbook Pro both running Mac OS, I can read the drive but I can not write to it, delete, or change its contents. On my computer the information about the drive says I have custom permissions, whatever that means. I want full access to the drive so I can read, write, and execute from any device on my network while the drive is connected to the usb port on the router. How do I make this all work? Thank you for the help.
